Overview
The open - type headbox is suitable for paper - making speeds ranging from 100 to 300 m/min.
The basis weight of the finished paper can be adjusted from 12 to 200 g/m², and the consistency
of the stock in the headbox is maintained within 0.1 - 0.8%. The width of the net - formed paper
can vary from 1092 to 5500 mm. The main functions of this headbox involve the distribution,
spreading, uniform pulp dispersion, and sizing of the paper - making stock. The slurry is introduced
in a stepped - diffusion manner. The components in contact with the slurry are made of 304 stainless steel.
The surface of the headbox, especially the parts in contact with the slurry, is meticulously polished.
After mirror - like polishing, the roughness of the inner wall in contact with the slurry is 0.4 μm,
while that of other parts is between 1.6 and 0.8 μm. This ensures that there is no pulp - hanging phenomenon.
The surface of the stepped - diffuser in contact with the pulp is smooth, with a roughness of 0.4 μm.
